Hey guys,

I have so much music yet to discover, but it consumes a lot of time! So I was wondering if you know a website where you can search for an artist and it shows you his songs, ordered by rating, for example.

Thanks!

Last.fm does exactly what you're after. It's gone slightly downhill over the past year or so but it should still be ok.
Other than that it's difficult to help without knowing your specific music interests.

not a rating as such, but artist pages on last.fm lists songs by how often they are played by all its registered users - the most popular being ranked top.

it's a big IF but if you use foobar2000 to play your music, i've made some scripts for it that would help you find new music.

this first one uses last.fm as a source but displays info right inside foobar. it simply uses the artist of what you're listening to lookup and show you information.

this script is called last.fm similar artists.

clicking the text launches the last.fm website in your browser so you can read more about the artist. and you can see little spotify buttons next to each one - that would require you have spotify installed if you want to search for new music to listen to.

if you right click the panel, it can display other feeds such as their top tracks which is like visiting the site as i mentioned in my first reply.

also, i've written 2 other scripts that look at musicbrainz and discogs which list all that artist's releases. it is limited to 100 entries though which might not be enough to see all releases from some artists...

again, the text is clickable taking you to the website so you can view full release info/track listings.

if you right click the musicbrainz script, you can choose it to display links related to the current artist giving quick access to find more info all over the web:

lastly, there is a script called news/reviews/blogs and it summarises articles in a few lines and again provides clickable links to let you read more online.

there are sorts of other scripts included. full instructions and required files are inside this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/22801321/wsh/samples.zip

the one pre-requisite is that you know how to add panels to a foobar layout by yourself.
