The nursery where my wife works are having an issue with a development map website they use for displaying images.

The website loads ok in most things but doesn't display properly on fire hd tablets which the nursery use nor does it display properly on my Samsung s9.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix or what to tell the author

Have other browsers been tried on the tablets? I have no real experience with tablets and website design etc, just running through my troubleshooting playbook and the first of call is to properly identify where the fault lies before going deeper.

Difficult to say without context I'm afraid. Are the pages loading anything at all, what level of broken is it? It could simply require additional CSS media queries to accommodate the resolutions these devices use or it may be a performance/compatibility issue.

You should be able to request the desktop version of the site in the browser, it'll look minuscule however it should display & function the same as the desktop version. If that's the case it's just a resolution issue and needs some styling adjustment. If not then you're into compatibility issue territory where the site either has JavaScript errors or it might be using modern JavaScript or CSS that the browsers on those devices don't support. Where possible have them install the most latest version of Chrome or Firefox they can.

I would take some screenshots of the broken page on the device your using and email them back to whoever maintains the website. Also tell them the exact details of the device which is being used, along with the browser.
