Website plugins for interesting live info

Hi,

I'm looking for ideas and examples of scripts that can be embedded in a website to give useful local information.

A boring example would be local weather info pulled from thet met office or metcheck.

But do you have any more exciting examples or ideas?

I read a site which combines headlines of all local news sites onto 1 page.

My phone will also give me traffic info, so i'm sure you'd be able to set that up on a website too.
