Over the last week and a half I've been working on a website revamp. It's now up and live.......

http://www.fast-air.co.uk/

Comments very welcome, good or bad, as long as it's constructive!

I feel I could do with a good background image to sit behind the body of the site but as of yet I'm not found anything suitable. Apart from that I'm reasonably happy with the site.

Thanks for looking!

Can't comment much on the site, looks good lol

Some ace pictures there, how'd you get so close or do you use a huge lense?

I particually like the shot you are using as a banner.

Thanks.

It's a bit of both, you get as close as you can and then buy the biggest, best quality lens you can get your hands on. :D

looks nice,

only comment is that the links (home, about, email, links etc) look a bit basic

would be nice if they could be a bit more graphical..

This is an interesting one, as it is a business venture (i assume rather than a hobby?) which speaks for itself... so although the website has obviously not been done by a professional web company, it is clean, easy to navigate and most importantly shows off your work well :)

so in answer, there are plenty of improvements that could be made to the site, but i wouldn't worry about it too much unless you really wanna go the whole hog, which would cost money ;)

btw: Sigma 300 ƒ/2.8 - beeeeaaauuuuutiful :D

Thanks Mugen, it's just a hobby. No real money in mil aviation photography. Although, I think it would he fair to call it a serious hobby.

I would be interested in hearing any suggestions you have for the site but it's unlikely I will be looking to go as far as getting in a professional.

@Paul, thanks, an example would be great.

fair enough :)

I would:

• create a proper logo

• slicken up the menu

• round the corners of the dark grey box down the right

• add a border around the images, i would recommend a 5px diagonal light grey pinstripe one

• add the images to collections so when your in your lightbox interface, you can progress through the gallery

feel free to ignore this, this is just some of the stuff i'd do :)

Thanks for the feedback. I'll need to give some thought on how to improve the menu.

The lightbox gallery is already on the list. I did try to round the right column but had problems getting it to line up so dumped it, I'll have to revisit it.

I've had some thoughts on a logo but I've not come up with something that works. I was hoping to come up with a large background image and blend into that. I need to shoot some more stuff in portrait!

Not sure about that border on images, I'll give it a try and see how it looks.

Nice clean site.

Tested it across FF, IE 6 -> IE 8 and seems to work fine :)

Some great photos on there as well :)

Thanks guys, I spent a fair amount of time making sure it worked in most of the common browsers. FF and IE8 are fairly similar, IE7 and 6 have some spacing issues but northing major. Adoption of IE8 seems good, hopefully 6 and 7 will die out soon.
