I remember a while back a website was posted that let you earn refferal fees on websites for soemthing like a £10 joining fee. Anyone remember what it was?

My understanding from this from what you're saying is that, if you buy things through their links to the providers or something like that... you get the money that they would get from the suppliers for advertising?

You really haven't quite grasped this have you? You don't MAKE money. It's cashback from what you spend. Money that you wouldn't receive otherwise.

Just to break it down for you to digest:

Say you go on the RadioTimes website and click on a banner ad for Orange and then take out a contract with Orange. Orange would pay the RadioTimes say £30.

Subtract RadioTimes for Quidco and instead of them earning the referral fee they pass it on to you. There's no point in 'spamming' Quidco as members don't earn or gain anything from it.

Ohhh, I went by the OP and assumed it was a regular referral links scheme, my apologies :)

It works, 100%. I've earned around £60 just from online shopping in the space of a few months. It's basically just cashback for shopping online. Easy money, no spamming.

so you don't really earn money as such, you just get a bit of a discount that someone else might normally get instead? that sounds great :)

Well, sort of, but I wouldn't put it like that.

Let me give you an example.

Say you want to buy your house insurance online from Norwich Union.

You now look up Norwich Union on Quidco...http://www.quidco.com/norwich-union-direct/
That page tells you that you will get £40 cashback if you buy your insurance policy online.

So, you click the following button on the quidco Norwich Union page after logging in:
visit_merchant.gif

It redirects you to the normal Norwich Union website. You get your quote and it comes to £250 (just an example). So, you pay the £250 upfront to Norwich Union on their website, i.e. you buy it online as you normally would.

This is where quidco steps in. It will track your online purchase on Norwich Union through the referral link that you clicked earlier. Your account will now show that you have earned the relevant amount - in this case, £40.

A few months down the line, quidco will receive the £40 from the merchant (Norwich Union) and they (quidco) will then credit your paypal or bank account with that £40.

It's such an easy way to make money. Or you can look at it from another point of view - you're getting a discount. So your house insurance policy that would have cost £250 now comes to £210 after the cashback. It's simply an incentive to get everybody shopping online. It's really clever if you think about the way it works.

So, how do Quidco make their money? They keep £5 of your earnings per year. So it's basically free, you don't pay anything to quidco. They just keep £5 from your first transaction, and that's it. Everything else that you earn is 100% yours.

Nice not bad for buying stuff i wanted :D Even got £22 for a PS3 I pre-ordered then cancelled the pre-order and still got the £22

I got lucky with it they paid the cash after a few months but the PS3 was pushed back, most compaies will decline some offers if you break the terms.

I joined Quidco ages ago and it does work but never really used it cos I always forget, just looked at it again.

£115 cashback for successful purchases of Pru Health from their site.

Clicked it to see what it was like, says on their site as well that you get £100 of JJB vouchers as well, got a quote for 20.83 a month which comes to roughly 250.

Looks like health cover for a year for 35 quid that.

My tip is to sign up to gambling sites, wager the least amount and bet on something easy, recoup your money and withdraw it. Sites like Ladbrokes, Totalbet etc pay up to £35 for just £5 wagered! You never have to bet again. The way these work is that they hope that by you registering you'll eventually end up forking out more than what they pay back to Quidco.

Genius!

But I cant see those merchants on Quidco
