Could any body kindly tell me what they think the development cost of something like this would be. I am interested to know because it has received a phenomenal amount of funding foe what seems like a basic WordPress customisation:

It is a Wordpress / themeshaper job

Cant put a price on it because quite often a price is not a proper representation on the work done (works both ways) I've seen some awful sites made with hundreds of thousands being spent on them.. and some truly magnificent sites being produced for peanuts.

I would however say that a phenomenal amount of money would not be required to produce a site like this, but then I don't know the ins and outs of the job.

Erm define a "phenomenal" amount. Looks like the person behind this is a one man (well woman) band:confused:

It's £11,000, but i don't know whether there is marketing or future development included included in that.

That's not a "phenomenal" amount!

I agree that it's not a large amount but is certainly more than someone should be charging for such an average looking website.
(Assuming that the 11k was for the site itself, and not including additional things such as a long term SEO plan, years of hosting, retainer for amends or something).

Using wordpress I would charge around £300 for the design + implementation of said wordpress.

I do webdesign for the luls though, I'm not a company...

£11k?!?

I'm charging £680 for the Wordpress driven site I'm making someone at the moment, and it looks a damn site prettier than that (even if I do say so myself).
