Ive bought a new laptop with win 10. While browsing im trying to open up sites but the loading icon just keeps spinning. Eventually they might load up but most of the time it will not.

Any way to fix this? im using chrome and explorer. Both are doing it.

Connection is fine. Some sites will just open up like HUKD but other such as OCUK will just hang.

This is just a guess, but it could be related to something like IP address assigning. If you have a dynamic IP address allocation, how the new laptop is coping with that, depending on what IP protocols it is trying to use with the router. Things to think about are DHCP, and/or IPv6 vs IPv4. Just a wild guess though. It could be related to the wireless card as well, and how that picks up an IP address from your router.

If you have an ethernet cable, connect that to laptop and see what happens then.

Smelled like a DNS problem from the title, and yep it is.

Your Internet connection is indeed fine, the problem is that when you enter the URL of a website, your browser is sending a request to resolve the IP of that domain but not receiving a reply from the DNS server.

With DNS set to automatic, your devices receive their DNS configuration from your router, which in turn receives it from your ISP, who most likely have their own DNS servers. If there's something wrong with theirs, or the network their DNS server is on, you'll experience issues like this. It'll almost certainly be fine in a few days, but there's no reason why you shouldn't just use Google's (8.8.8.8) for now, and forever :p

There's nothing wrong your side, the best thing you can do is manually configure your DNS settings like you have done. You could configure your router to point to Google's DNS too, but if you're not experiencing any issues with other devices this would be largely pointless.

If you want even more fun, have a google about the "hosts file" in Windows, your PC looks there for domain-IP conversion before asking a DNS server. Some fun pranks can be had with that :p

As above, but I would attempt to change the default DNS servers in your router, that way it would fix the problem for every device in your house without having to change individual settings.

Ill leave it for now and reset the settings back to auto in a couple of days to see if it rights itself like said above.

If not ill look at changing the router settings.
