Sorry for noobing the forum up with my question, but we've all got to learn at sometime!

Anyway, Google dropped me an adsense voucher in the post, which has motivated me to finally build a website for my dad's business. He's already got the domain registered with 123-reg, but that's it, no webspace or anything. Now, I've spent 5 minutes with Trellian which I found in the freeware thread, and made an extremely rudimentary website, just a few lines of text and a phone number. Not going to win any awards, but as we're a freight broker we can't really deal with things over the internet, it needs to be done via phone.

Anyway, we've got the domain, but 123 want to charge £2.50 a month for hosting. However, I already have my own website with streamline, which is used pretty much as an ftp and nothing else.
There's only 1 html page, though I may get around to including a logo, so a couple of images as well. It probably wouldn't go over 1Mb.

So... I don't really know how this sort of thing works. Is it possible for me to host all the files on my streamline ftp, and just get the 123 reg'ed domain to open them? And obviously keep the url as the company url, as mine wouldn't be as appropriate for a business.

Thanks!

Thanks, but I already have the domain name and storage sorted. Its just trying to figure out how to get the domain name which is registered with one company to show files stored on my other site hosted by a different company.

you need to change the name servers with 123 reg to point at your other hosting. You then need to go to your other hosting and add the domain as an add on domain, (if your other hosting offer this capability).

Wait 1 - 3 days and hey presto.

Right, thanks. I'll have a poke around in 123's CP and see if I can find an option like that. Thanks!
