Got telwest yesterday, the modem keeps cutting out every now and then. just refuses to send or recieve data. now on telewests website it says that its a problem with the old drivers and download the new version 3.2. however I've tried installing this several times and it still says version 1.12 in device manager. Yes I did use the files to delet the old drivers. Any ideas. Only way to fix it is to reboot windows.

Also I need a wirless router. was looking at the Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Broadband Router/4-Port Switch, any problems with this model?
Also I'm taking it its just like adsl, and its got a built in modem?

The WRT54G has an ethernet port on the WAN side so you need to plug it into a modem with ethernet out.

I can't help with the modem problem unfortunately, I'm an ADSL user (used to use an ethernet ADSL modem with a WRT54G).

Thanks :)...

Also with the modem I've only found usb drivers, if I try connecting it though a network cable, it struggles to get an ip and then says limited or no conectvity found...

You'd need to switch the modem off and back on, wait for the lights to settle down, then plug in to your PC if you're going to use ethernet. MAC addresses and all that joy.

Certainly a better idea than USB.
