Hey gang,

A friend of mine wants to have a very relaxed wedding reception at a bar/pub somewhere around London for 150 people. She wants to organise food trucks instead of the traditional wedding breakfast - a little bit like a wedding festival!

The thing is, she wants a ready to go venue with a bar so that we don't need to organise hiring chairs etc.

It's proving tricky as we need to find a pub/bar that allows external catering & has somewhere to park the food trucks themselves (e.g. yard / owned car park).

Any ideas please? :)

Thanks!

I went to a wedding in the Mile End Art Pavilion last month, they have seating (though perhaps not 150, but there's plenty of space). And they have a parking area where you could fit 2-3 food vans. It's a nice space, and the people are lovely. Worth investigating.

I'm also a fan of the King Arthur on Eversholt Street (right outside Euston). They definitely let you hire out the pub for events, 150 might be a stretch unless they have an upstairs. Parking space might be an issue but worth asking them as location is excellent and pub is nice. Their website appears to be down, which isn't a good sign though.

Have they looked at breweries? There are loads of great ones in London.

We had our reception 2 weeks ago at our local brewery in Leeds, Northern Monk. They had a nice big room to hire out, we decorated and arranged our own food (US style buffet). They put on a little bar with their own beers and any we requested that they could get hold of.

Was probably the best wedding I've been to :)

Thanks for all your replies!

I've just tried a few golf clubs but they all seem to have their own catering.

Mile End Art Pavillion needs a lot of organisation and she wants a ready to go venue. Prince Arthur in Euston say no external caterers - and she is dead set on food trucks!

Breweries are a great shout as is Wanstead Sports Club - thank you.

Keep 'em coming :D
