Hello could anyone tell me why (according to their product labels) Roundup Proactive is aquatic area safe while Gallup home and garden is not. They both contain 360g/l of glyphosate.

The Gallup product label says,

'contains 360g/l Glyphosate in a soluble concentrate'
The Roundup Proactive goes further around that detail adding..

'present as 441g/l (35%w/w) of the potassium salt of glyphosate'

Just wondering if Gallup can be used in the same areas of use.

Thanks.

Btw. That photo isn't me, I'm an ugly git.

I was looking into this and i've read that the roundup isn't as good as the Gallup product. I was looking to try it as the weed on my block driveway is starting to come through.

I use a large sprayer and put general weedkiller concentrate in it and top up with water. To help it stick to the weeds, I also add a squirt of washing up liquid too. But the washing up liquid I've only just started doing, as I read it can help with more stubborn plants that have waxy leaves.

I use non bio washing powder for weeds/moss killing duties just wet whatever you want killed pour it over and that's the end of it.

Meres tail. Pian to get rid of. You can stamp on them to bruise them. That can help

Vinegar - soap - and salt
Is tremendous as a simple weedkiller
I think now we are out the EU we can get USA weedkiller but some of them are pretty nasty - they will kill anything
Vinegar soap and salt is proper effective. Spray it when you have a couple of sunny days. It will not kill to the roots of course.
You can also mix things like bleach for moss on driveways.

Vitax SBK Brushwood Weedkiller is what you want for Mares Tail.
Specifically it's triclopyr that works.

2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic also works.

I used Gallup for years. Always worked well for me. But recently the prices have gone through the roof. But dichlorophenoxy is cheaper from a quick Google.

Have you used 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic on all other weeds?

I usually mix 120ml to 5lt and it kills everything I've sorted it on apart from knotweed.

I've not used it. Mostly use glyphosate and triclopyr on though stuff.
120ml sounds a hell of a lot of product in 5 Lt.

It takes to long or doesn't kill the weeds if I used less. A drop in 5lt will kill grass tho.

The sprayer was leaking. My workmate walked across a low with the sprayer. Was only a little dribble. So I told him to throw a few buckets of water down. Came back 2 weeks later and it was all dead

Jesus - Glyphosate 360 is now £85 for 5ltrs - I paid half that a few years ago. -No more giving away a cup full.

Any recommendations for a pet safe weed killer? Don’t want my puppy licking it or chewing on a weed I spray.

For block paving I use a product called 'Block Blitz'. It comes as sachets of powder that you just dissolve into a watering can and then just water your path / drive / patio as needed. Once its dried the area is pet safe. I far prefer it to the combination of weed killer and pressure washing needed otherwise.
