Hi,
I just hope that I'm posting in right section.

Got my parts for new PC on Monday and today pc just want start.

I have assembled PC and everything was working fine for 2 days. Yesterday I have noticed that after pressing power button Pc would start and within 5 sec would shutdown and then starts again and then working fine.

Today Pc will start and than click and shutdown - starts up and click shutdown. Pc will not even get to a point where I can enter BIOS.

PSU 1050W XFX black edition.
Motherboard MSI z77a - gd65
GPU Sapphire 7950
CPU Pentium G640
8GB Ram
Windows 7

I have removed GPU and still same problem. I have changed sockets and same. I have changed fuse in lead from PSU still same :-(

Can somebody help me out please. I'm just lost :(

Thank you very much

Anything overclocked? reset to stock if it is by clearing the CMOS.

Take out a stick of RAM and try all the slots, then try the other stick.

Disconect the drives, you dont need em to get into the BIOS.

Remove the GFX card again while doing this to keep the system simple.

Wiggle and re-fit the cables.

I was like a 5 year old kid all week :-(

GPU is out.
No overclocking has been done. Just have it 3 days :-(
Cables all removed and reattached.

I'm going to try RAM as you have suggested.

Thank you again for your help.

I have tried all RAM slots and still same issue - power up 5sec click shutdown.
HDD disconnected and same :-(

Pull out the psu cables and short the green and a black wire on the 24pin PSU plug, this will hopefully start the PSU.

just wondering this would tell if it works without load but doesnt definitively tell that the psu doesnt work or work, as it can turn on but when it has to power something it might not be able to, so would it not be better to test with another psu

Many thanks guys I really appreciate your help.

I'm a bit afraid to try the trick with them wires :(
Unfortunately I have no access to another PSU, drawback to be foreigner in NI :-)

Hello to Bangor from Belfast.

What should I say to guys from overclockers ?
How are they dealing with warranty ?
Are they going to change the parts or send them to manufacturer or I will have to go through manufacturer warranty ?

Thank you all

bf3 is fine with 1 7950... u just need a better cpu.

Many thanks :)
So i3570k will be enough ?

I have forget one small detail.
MB has blue leds which are usually flashing - now they are all light up.
Does it say something ?

Anything in the manual about this?

I have found -

Debug LED panel

POST----------------------Status
02,07---------------------Power on CPU initialization
03,08---------------------Power on North bridge initialization
04,09---------------------Power on South bridge initialization
0B-------------------------Power on cache initialization

CPU_Phase LEDs

These leds will change according to CPU loading. The higher the power phase number, the more reliable the power flow to the processor.

Red LED
This LED will light up when Dr-MOS overheat.

Nothing about all leds "on"

if it is a problem with the parts overclockers are very VERY good with customer service they rma nearly everything if there is a problem and it needs fixing (currently getting a replacement for my 7870 as it has an issue, bearing in mind i got the 7870 as a replacement for a broken 6970 which they dont make anymore)

Priceless Northern Irish accent OYOY OY O AAAAAAAAAAAY :)

Tested that PSU with paper clip
Fan is spinning so I assume that PSU is fine.

There are 4 pins on MB and guide how to check voltage to CPU ect.
Going to try that but I do not hold my breath for that(PC is shutting down after 5s).
