** Weekend Football Thread **

If I were a betting man I'd plump a few quid on Everton. Spurs hit with injuries to key players (Lennon, Ekotto, Bent) and Palacios isn't in the squad for personal reasons - similar to Defoe it seems police have confimed finding the remains of his young brother :(

So that's 3 of our most important players and our top scorer out. Also Gareth Bale starts and I think the press have made sure everyone knows he's never won a premiership game for Spurs.

Tottenham

* 01 Gomes
* 22 Corluka
* 26 King
* 39 Woodgate
* 03 Bale
* 02 Hutton
* 06 Huddlestone
* 08 Jenas
* 14 Modric
* 15 Keane
* 25 Defoe

Substitutes

* 23 Cudicini,
* 05 Bentley,
* 09 Pavlyuchenko,
* 16 Gunter,
* 18 Campbell,
* 21 Chimbonda,
* 34 Rose

Looks like Spurs lining up 5-3-2 with Huddlestone in the middle... I've a feeling we could be in for a spanking.
Just shows how much Bentley has fallen from grace when Harry would rather switch to such a formation rather than just a straight swap Lennon for Bentley??

If West Brom win they'll be level on points with Newcastle and Boro. Could get even more interesting.

Can see us getting a thumping tmr from Chelsea, Arshavin is out as well :(

Spurs playing very well, had much the better of the game so far and should be leading.... Bale looking very good :)

Gomes just dribbled the ball with an Everton striker on top of him... lucky to get away with it.

Steve Claridge basically just said Shearers constant tactical changing has confused the players and brought about poor performances, which are increasingly looking to be relegation form.

Have to say I agree, the systems need different kinds of players. Play the system the players are used to. He's tried to be too clever, he was brought there as a returning hero, but sadly his skills are only in the motivating side of things.

:p
