Don't miss out and grab yourself an SSD this weekend. :D

Nearly brought this at 3pm but got side tracked watching the tennis. Glad I waited now :D
Also entering the SSD world for the first time.

Not buying anything till I see the crucial m4 128GB or the Samsung 830 one at £65!!!! ;) :p

Do not mention competitor prices still very competitive). They may drop further, but I doubt it will be by much - certainly not compared to the recent price crashes. And with NAND/DDR, prices can go up quite suddenly too.

The reasons/rumours I've heard for the current price drops are :
- Shifting "old" stock ready for next-gen SSDs/controllers (Sata4 ?)
- A global glut of NAND chips
- The big boys (Samsung, Crucial, OCZ) forcing out the numerous small players ***

*** Although I'm all for healthy competition, there do seem to be endless Sandforce clone drives, which offer nothing new except a different coloured case. Basically, we need less SSD manufacturers and more for HDDs.

Indeed!

£75+ is more than what I would like to spend really, very tight budget :o :p

I think ocuk had the m4 128GB at about £65-70 for a one day only deal a few months ago, so I am patiently waiting for that again or one for the Samsung 830 series SSD :p

Also crucial are supposedly releasing their new SSD sometime soon (which is why there have been quite a lot of deals on their current ones recently)

I can't see them dropping by too much either over the next few months :( But I am hoping OCUK will have a "today only" deal for one or both of them at some point :p

Loving the price on the Agility 3.

Ordered :) Entering the SSD world for the first time.

You're going to love it.

I paid £180 for my 120GB vertex2e, so £130 for that 240GB Agility 3 is looking mighty tasty. I might have to shift all my big progs (photoshop etc) onto one of them. Hmmmmmmm. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... If only I hadn't just put down a deposit on a flat.... I could live in a box maybe.

@ Bulldog147 While I certainly dont have the money for such a thing, Its not actually that expensive. Crazy when i think my sata2 128gig M225 cost me £320 when i got it...

Thankfully it died and i got an M4 as a warranty replacement :p

@Devrij Same boat here, deposit and 3 months advanced rent... what a killer. On the positive the new flat is kickass :)

Yeah it quite scary when one of the SSD had died on us, not a nice pleasure feeling as we don't believe a wording MTBF of a million of hours. I heard that the only SSD that never died is Intel, M4!

yeh well thankfully crucial had a 5 year warranty on my drive. and were very quick and easy to deal with. and a huge 2 generation leap in upgrades :D yay for crucial.
