Hi chaps and chapettes :D

I've resisted the urge (for now) to buy a new case (DD DW *21*) so I can get my GPU under water as well as the motherboard...

Now I WAS going to drain, flush, clean the old blue X1 and move over to an orange coolant, but I simply can't be bothered, so I'm going to use coloured tubing.

Tubing needs to be orange, I'm torn between the XSPC stuff that states its Red/Orange UV but actually looks Orange or the Masterkleer stuff that simply states UV Orange, again it looks orange to me. Never used Masterkleer and a big fan of XSPC, so does the below look orange enough to you guys?

Second question, I want to move over from my current silver Bitspower fittings to something black (feel it will contrast better), I like the look of the below Koolance fittings, though listed in the 7/16 - 5/8 section they state 1/2 - 5/8. Now I know that 7/16 ID will fit over the 1/2 ID and that the OD is the same on both tubing and compressions, anyone confirm 100% that these work?

YOUR BASKET
2 x XSPC HighFlex Hose 7/16" ID, 5/8" OD, 15.9/11.1mm, 2m, Red/UV Orange £5.98 (£11.96)
10 x Koolance Nozzle Single, *Black* Compression for 13mm x 16mm (1/2in x 5/8in) £3.98 (£39.80)
4 x EK-PSC Adapter Rotary 45° G1/4 Black £3.59 (£14.36)
4 x EK-PSC Adapter Rotary 90° G1/4 Black £3.59 (£14.36)
Total : £91.00 (includes shipping : £8.75).

It may come to that (the EK fittings) I was just curious about the Koolance fittings as they are only 50p more a fitting :)

IF the blue would show throw maybe I'll just buy clear X1 and that can dilute the blue stuff that will be left in my radiator.

why not cut open one tube just before the pump and have a steady supply of tap water going into the pump and the other cut end just having all the waste water going into a bucket? Easy way to fully flush the system and only needs to replace one tube :D

You'd think so, but I don't trust it (not yet anyway). It'd be just my luck to fill it up after cleaning and find a pocket of blue X1 to ruin my day. Plus its a major pain to bleed when its strapped to the side of an 800D :p

EK PSC fittings, wish I'd gone Koolance now, someones mucked up the stock codes on the fittings so I ended up with 5 1/2 - 3/4 compressions and 1 7/16 - 5/8. They all say WC-108-EK on the bag to indicate they are 7/16, so I've had to reuse my silver bitspower fittings for now

Pics to follow incase anyone else wants to identify a 1/2 PSC next to a 7/16 PSC.

Edit: Anyone considering buying 7/16 - 5/8 black EK PSC compressions from OcUK should hold off for now, seems they have a serious stock issue as the 1/2 fittings show as out of stock as they have been stamped up with the wrong product code.

I've just tried all my silver fittings 7/16 and they all do up to about 2/3rds and then it's a real struggle to tighten them any further, so I assume mine are ok?

And yeah pics would be great to see :)

Yeah thats how the EK fittings should be, they won't tighten all the way down. Just finishing up the loop then I'll get some pics up as I have to resize them etc...

It looks like its just a batch of black fittings that have come in and given the wrong product code and in turn picked out as 7/16.

Can provide a high res image if anyone needs to look any closer at the knurling.

You can see the pattern on the outer grippy part is different enough to spot. I hope i get the correct ones when i order..... :)

I would hope that you do, in less experienced hands i.e. first time user this could have been a disaster as you can fit the 7/16 tubing over the 1/2 barb on the compression, it just doesn't clamp the tubing into place, leaving the tubing free to pop off at will.
