Wehn Folding on the PS3, is there a special low-power overnight mode?

maybe no-one on here says anything, but I've never seen a ps3 folding thread in here and would assume you "may" struggle for an answer

...you watch there will be loads of folding posts now


Anyway to try and answer you question, as far as I'm aware all the ps3 will do is turn the monitor / tv into standby / low power output, the fans may slow down but not a "power saving" mode per se

Loads of people fold (I see loads of people's statuses in the XMB).

There's just not much you can say about it, it's not a game, it's a screensaver to all intents and purposes, what can you discuss :D (Dunno if there is discussions in the distributed computing forum).

Anyway don't think power saving and folding go hand in hand as it uses a lot of power in folding mode (I recall reading). Turn it off to save money if you are concerned about this credit crunch ;)

i know i was just wondering if i could get it to shut off the blu ray drive and other unnecessary bits. Cant do much about the CPU usage :p
