I've been looking at getting some weights and a foldaway bench, and not looking at spending silly money, but willing to spend as much is needed for something good enough.

50KG york cast iron weights with bar and dumbbells for £60 seems reasonable value from that catalogue shop :p but when it comes to benches I have no idea what I'm looking for. Any suggestions?

Get the 50kilo dumbell and barbell set, you can always buy more weights for it. If youve got space get a bench similar to what been suggested. if you tight on space get a utility bench, and some bench stands? (like axle stands but for the bar) then you can hide it all away:)

ive just purchased a golds gym utility bench for £70 that goes to almost vertical and decline and folds away. Also brought 10x40 kilo discs, to already go with the 50 kilo set i have, so i dont need to waste £4 to go to the gym! can do shoulder and dumbell press, along with flyes at home now :D their weights only go upto 30kilo anyway! let us know what you get and how it works out!

York fitness do some good benches (or try the friendly trading place:p), as for weights search for some called "body sculpture", absaloutely amazing set of weights. Very small, but heavy. Great if you don't have a lot of room!

I finally got around to ordering a york 520 bench and 50kg set from *that catalogue shop with the little blue pens*. I was waiting for *uks biggest supermarket online* to get them back in stock as their weights are described as coming in a wheeled case, and they were cheaper - but *that catalogue shop with the little blue pens* have dropped the price of the york bench to £60 making it £125 delivered for the 520 bench with lat curl and 50KG cast iron weight set which isn't bad.

Should be delivered sometime on tuesday, lets just hope one of my housemates will be in :D
