Weird AA Problem - x1900XT

New card/mobo/psu, been running fine so far although haven't played with it extensively.

Been trying to run Oblivion with the chuck patch and first time enabling AA/AF except it's causing both graphical anomolies - purple/red blotches on the left side & top of screen which disappear after 30 odd seconds, replaced with a white glow which comes and goes.

Also seen screen go light/dark and diagonal black lines appear as well as corruption.

This is predictably followed by a system lock up and garbled sound spam.

Only happens with AA/AF enabled, none of the anomolies appear in other games I've tried so far but the lockups do occur.

What's going on here? Duff card or could it be a driver issue? Running x64.

Edit: Nvm, locking up with no AA/AF now as well, seems to do it when the fan starts speeding up, could it be PSU? It's a brand new 550W Akasa. The temps are fine and I'm passing memtest/prime95.

I tried using an x1800 on xp64 with those drivers and got exactly the same problems as you described. My first thought was a card prob as well due to the odd graphical glitches you get, but I dont get the probs in any other game either so Im guessing the 64-bit version of those drivers are just a bit iffy. Shame really as I was looking forward to AA+HDR, guess we will have to wait for the next official Cat release

On a side note, when I went back to the normal X64 Cat 6.3's I dont get any of the problems, so you might want to try that.
