started the computer today and I have a bios info display up on the desktop .. it's over my desktop icons (so I can't access them) and all it is saying is my current bios, mobo, version and release date .. amybody know how to get rid of this and why it is up in the first place??

That's not good. I'd update the bios through the bios itself as a first step. Something is getting screwed up.
