Weird Boot Issue

Hey guys,

So this is odd, basically when ever I boot up the new computer it will boot then sit at a pre bios black screen it looks like and stay like that.

If I then hit the reset button it will boot straight into windows no problem lol.

I have no issues running anything after that.

Anyone have any ideas?

Cold boot failure isn't that unusual with some gigabyte boards :| usually gets sorted with a bios update at some point. Increasing vcore or vtt/imc voltages 1-2 notches can sometimes sort it but doesn't always help, also sometimes there are options for starting the RAM on more standard timings first IIRC.

Some people claim it can come or go away depending on the brand/mode of PSU you use but I've never had that change the behaviour for me.

Its really strange lol, it seems to only have started with the last bios update.

There is a new one out I think F8 which I could update too and try.

Hmmmmm

Erm Wazza can you click on my sig to see my parts?

One thing to be aware of (if you use it) those modded BIOS can sometimes lack things like SLI support and/or other features that require "qualification".

If your still getting this make sure your DRAM main voltage (usually 1.65) are manually entered rather than left to XMP (make sure you set them right though as the wrong setting can easily kill your RAM :S).
