Weird breaks/lines in Borderlands game

Recently bought borderlands and i'm having some weird breaks in the picture when i move the mouse up and down or if im going really fast. Doesn't seem to do it when im going side to side though. It's like the top half of the picture is lagging behind the bottom half. I've updated the game to the most recent patch and im using 10.8 drivers, not bothered with updating cos it seems abit of a waste of time tbh when im quite happy with the current drivers. Also this doesn't happen in any other games not even crysis warhead, just borderlands!

Quick specs of my rig can be found in my sig if needed.

I'm running the game at max resolution 1920 x 1080 and running max settings in game. CCC is set to default and set to default by application. My display is a iiyama E2407HDSD Prolite 24" monitor.

Anyone know what could be causing this or possible solutions to fix it?

Thanks in advance
Jay

It'll be "tearing" where the FPS is out of sync with the monitor's refresh rate, so you're seeing parts of different frames on the screen at the same time. Turn vsync on and see how it is.

Thats the thing, there isn't any option for Vsync in borderlands! Any way to get around this?

I get this in some games that dont have vsync listed in the options. In CCC click the 3D tab where you can force aa and af and look for the bit that says vertical refresh. Can force it permanently in there or force on unless an application chooses to have it on/off etc.

That doesn't seem to work in some games:(

I tried that and it still does it, this is so fustrating. It's more of an annoyance than anything and sends your eyes funny sometimes.

rivatuner has a tool called d3d where u can force vsync, disable all vsync in CCC+ingame and set application to medium once you add the borderlands exe and force on triple buffering and vsync.

ps its terrible i dont know how people ignore tearing.your going to get input lag from using vsync but over time you will get used to it.

Ah thanks Mr. May! I edited the WillowGame.ini and managed to turn Vsync on. Works like a dream now :'D!
