Evening,

We have this issue at home currently whereby the internet works fine, as long as the phone is not connected through the ADSL filter. This has only come out in the last few weeks, but is very weird. Considering I don't completely trust BT's technical support, has anyone experienced anything sinilar or know of a solution??

Thanks,
Dirtychinchilla

No, but I will do, thank you. We had an engineer here on Saturday. We have an extension from the master socket to where the router lives; we tried the router at the master socket (which was replaced), and on the extension, which didn't change a thing. Both have different filters (same make etc, however).

First: try a different filter.
Second: try a different phone.
Third: get an engineer out (if one nor two help) as it sounds like a line problem in that case.

Forth: post in the network forum.

OK I shall try all of those, thank you. We did have the engineer out and he seemed to think that the line coming straight into the house was fine.

Someone has moved it :P

If you are using a cordless phone, then switch to a phone with a cord...

Nope, corded phones.

I'll try and do that when I'm home later. The engineer did actually put a filter on the main socket, so the incoming line to the house was filtered, and that didn't seem to make any difference.

Unplug everything.

Then connect the following to the main socket..

1 microfilter
phone / router, both going into microfilter

Test it.

If using the phone kills the connection, try another microfilter instead.

Test each microfilter in this same way.
