Hey guys,
A couple of users at work are complaining that when opening certain documents from the server, it takes the documents around 10 minutes to open. At first I thought it was their machines, so I copied the same documents from the server to their local machines and opened the documents up without any problems.
So my next step was to see if their machines had any connection issues and also to test the switch. I shared the files across the network from one of their machines and tried opening them up from another machine within the same building…again opened up perfectly fine, so I presumed it was a connection from problem from that building into the building with the server.
I also tried opening the documents from my machine, that’s in the same building as the server and again the documents opened up perfectly fine. So I then tried opening the documents that I shared from the user’s machine and yet again they opened perfectly fine without any problems.
So this leaves me slightly confused because I’m not sure what else I can try the find the cause of the problem.
Any ideas?
