Weird Core Temps of 3750k

Hey guys, I have just fitted an i3750K in Asus P8Z77 V Deluxe using a Corsair H80i for cooling. No overclocking involved yet, although the plan is to, hence want to make sure everything fine before I proceed.

The idle temps are a little weird. Two sets of temps with around 5-10C difference between them. Cores 0/1 higher than Cores 2/3.

I wondered if I hadn't got the cooler on properly but it feels secure. Using Prime the temps seems more similar but should I reseat the cooler or be worried about this?

Cheers

Perfectly normal. On mine, the 3rd core reads as low as 12c sometimes. At 100% load in p95, the temps go from 65c on the lowest core, 74c on the highest. Temp variation on quads is the norm. Though i suspect that the low temps in the teens may be dodgy sensors. The same happened with some s775 45nm intel quad cpu's.

It's possibly due to the orientation of the H80i waterblock? I had a similar thing on my 2700k and although wasn't a problem, re-orientating my EK CPU waterblock put the cores within 1-4 degrees difference rather than upwards of 10 degrees.

Still nothing to worry about really :)

my temps are all over the place on idle, but full load 2/3 are quite close 1/4 the same, load temps are all within 6-8*c

How quickly do your temps jump around, in say, HWMonitor? Mine never stay still for a second...29,31,30,32,29 etc. Constantly changing. Is that normal?

Yes:) It's just how quickly HWmonitor refreshes. At idle my 3570K is like 22, 25, 23, 38 but I doubt it's anything to worry about :p
