Weird CPU Problems (Confused)

Hello,

I'm having a weird problem.. O_o

To start off i first had a Gigabyte P35C-DS3R, i had my E6750 Running at 3.2GHz fine it was stable after running Orthos for several hours. I bought 2 more GB ram and reset all my BIOS back to default, and left it that way for months. Until eventually my Mobo departed on Saturday, March 1st 9:14AM.

Having got a new budget ASUS P5K, this is where the confusion starts. First off.. for some reason when i do a 1M SuperPI test it completes in 19.4 Seconds, which i clearly remember not been the case with my Gigabyte mobo, it was more like 17.

So i raised the FSB from 333 to 340, just to see how faster it got, but for some reason it actually got slower, now it does it in 20.1 seconds.

My CPU temp have also raised since i got my ASUS board, from 19-20°C to 30-35°C.

Is this normal from just changing MOBOs? Can anyone shed some light on this?

reguarding the cpu temps, that sort of jump probably means the hsf isn't seated properly or you didn't use enough TIM. Try using the original ram, the aditional 2gb puts extra strain on the memory controllers and might affect any oc you want to do.

what were you using to find out the cpu's temps on the two boards? i would only trust coretemp as ive seen many mobo sensors be waay off

Sneakypenguin: I have reseated the HS & Fan twice, i am also using 2GB of ram now with me been on XP.

Devil_Spawn: I was using Coretemp to check the tempratures.. The funny thing is, when i first got this mobo up and running my CPU temp was 28°C but now it's round about 32°C using arctic silver five and an AKASA Evo 120.
