Had this sent to my hotmail account.... obviously a dodgy email but what i cant figure is how exactly they hope to gain from it? no weird web link to dload a virus... no premium rate numbers to call ( just what appears to be a mobile ) and no asking me for my bank account details and stuff. Very odd indeed!

Have a read and see what you think.......

Dear Winner,
WINNING NOTIFICATION

The prestigious Micrsoft and aol has set out and sucessfully organised a Sweepstakes marking the new year 2006 anniversary we rolled out over £2,000.000.00 (Two million Great Britain Pounds) for our end of year Anniversary Draws. Participants for the draws were randomly selected and drawn from a wide range of web hosts which we enjoy their patronage.

The selection was made through a computer draw system attaching personalised email addresses to ticket numbers. If you ignore this, you will regret it later. Microsoft and AOL are now the largest Internet companies and in an effort to make sure that Internet Explorer remains the most widely used program, Microsoft and AOL are running an e-mail beta test.

Your email address as indicated was drawn and attached to ticket number 00879******** with serial numbers BTD/90******** and drew the lucky numbers 14-21-********* which subsequently won you £200,000.00 (Two Hundred Thousand Great Britain Pounds) as one of the 10 jackpot winners in this draw. You have therefore won the entire winning sum of £200,000.00 (Two Hundred Thousand Great Britain Pounds). The draws registered as Draw number one was conducted in Brockley, London United Kingdom on the 30th of January 2006. These Draws are commemorative and as such special.

If you're daft enough to contact the 'fiduciary agent' he'll tell you that as part of the process for them to get the money to you you'll need to pay a fee of some kind up front. If you're retarded enough to pay up the first time then it's quite likely that there'll be 'a problem' and they'll ask for a bit more money. Rinse and repeat until you realise you've been had and that there is in fact no prize money on it's way to you.

It's not really any different to the "Nigerian prince with 40 squillion pounds stuck in a bank account" scam except that these ones seem to originate from Holland most of the time.

Or if you reply to this E-mail, the next E-mail will be asking for your full Name, Address and bank account details so they know where to "Lodge" your money...... And I use the word "Lodge" very cautiously.
