Weird ethernet problem

Ok my motherboard MSI NEO2 K8N (a64 939) has an Nvidia Nforce and a Realtek ethernet port.

I've always used my Realtek one, just seemed better don't ask why. But recently after a fresh install when i try disable the Nvidia one, it restarts the pc, also the Realtek one wouldn't work at one point it just went dead. Now it's started working again but i seem to get lagg spikes a lot. Even with the Nvidia one too.

Now i know i haven't really given much info but, any idea what cause this? Mainly the Nvidia one restarting my pc?

Do you have the cruddy nVidia Armour (or whatever it is called) firewall software installed? That caused all sorts of strange things when I had it installed.

I'll try reinstalling drivers, or if it comes to it re-installing XP etc.

Nobody have any ideas as it's annoying.
