I've just quit my guitar lessons, haven't been for the past three weeks and I don't feel like it this week either.

I hardly ever find the enthusiasm to practice, it's at 11am on a saturday morning and I pay £48 /month for 2 hours of lessons.

Despite all this I still feel guilty for dropping it, almost like i've abandoned my teacher :(

Weird!

if your not interested though then why feel guilty? you should feel happy your not wasting your time or your teachers who could be using that slot to teach someone else.

That seems well expensive though....

so you should, its all your fault, he's now going to lose his job and end up living in a cardboard box on the streets, begging for scraps of food from the passing gentry, he will then be arrested for being a "lout" by the police and sent to the work houses.

hope you feel happy about all this pain you are causing him!

you can always go back if you change your mind.

Don't feel sorry for your teacher, s/hes taking £24 an hour off you, and everyone else they teach.

Nope I realise that, guess I just don't like change :)

i felt the same when i quit piano. didnt help that my teacher cried. i shan't bother psychoanalysing the situation, sufficed to say that the feeling of guilt will pass when you realise that there's nothing to feel guilty about. maybe you'll have more motivation to play now that you're free to choose exactly when and what you play.

Don't worry about it, if you don't like if just quit, I felt the same way after quitting karate after having been doing it for about 4 years, I'd only kept it up that long because I felt guilty about giving up and would feel like I let my parents down, don't know why lol

Learning how to play the guitar is on my todo list but if your hourly rate is anything to go by I think I'll give it a miss for now :(
