weird gfx crash

hi chaps, my 5970 (old, i know) has had this issue for a while where it will crash if crossfire is used after a random amount of time (can be within minutes of launching a game or crash after a 5+ hour gaming session).

this is what afterburner shows when it spacks out:

tried:

new/old drivers
different bios
reseating waterblock

only thing that stops it bailing is disabling crossfire, which sucks on a dual gpu card (i need the power for newer games!)

Have you managed to try a different crossfire bridge, and checked the connectors for crossfire are clean?

it's a 5970 dude, both gpu's are on the same card
