Hi,

Had my 2405w Dell for a couple of months now and its been great. Does everything I wanted. Got my PC connected to it using DVI-D and my Xbox 360 through Component (for info).

Today I was playing Oblivion on my 360 and I noticed out the corner of my eye some flashing pixels. Until today never seen even the slightest hint of this. Booted up my PC and now I've got a gang of about 15 pixels, in different states of some flashing either r / b or g, or being stuck in r / b or g. I tried rubbing them to no avail.

Anyways went off the PC for 30 mins or so, booted the PC off and turned everything off. Then came back on it, booted the PC up and, hey presto, they were gone. I went out the room, came back in, and they are back.

The really weird thing is if I've got a window open, say Internet Explorer and it's not maximised, if I move the window towards the area of funny pixels (they are in the top right of the monitor in about a 3 inch sq), the closer the window gets more of the frozen of flashy pixels appear. If I move the window away, these extra ones disappear.

Anyone got any ideas before I give Dell a nod tomorrow ?

Cheers,

sounds dodgy. You're not forcing refresh above 60Hz are you? doubt it, but only thing i can think of aside from checking cables and connections. Tried it on VGA as well as DVI?

nope, its only showing 60Hz in the graphics settings.

I've tried different resolutions and still get the locking pixels. touch wood none of them actually look dead, just stuck, or flashing. So maybe its solveable.

will try and find a vga cable in work.

ta.

If this is happening on the xbox and on the PC then it sounds like a monitor problem, especially as your using seperate inputs for both.

could well be a monitor issue. Contact Dell if problems persist. To be sure, try different connecitons and perhaps a different PC
