Weird Highlighting Bug?

I don't know much about macs, so don't even know where to start trying to figure out what is going on here.
I turned on my macbook the other day, and there was a black box around my hard drive icon. It looks like it's highlighted, but it's not. The box moves to whatever I'm currently highlighting, but then stays there even until I click on another item. So, if I just click elsewhere on a page or on my wallpaper, nothing happens.

The most annoying thing about this, is that the box will move up and down a page. So if I put something into a search on a website, there will be a black outline of the search bar following me down the page as I scroll.

Does anyone know what is going on with this? I'm fairly sure that I haven't changed anything to make this happen. Unfortunately I don't have tech support for another 2 weeks, so I can't just drop it in to get looked at :(.

Thanks,

Siobhan

Your activating the "VoiceOver" function by mistake by pressing fn+F5. If you go to System Preferences > Univeral Access you can turn it off.

I had this happen to me about 3 times before i figured out what the hell was going on. If you have the volume up a voice will explain everything your doing.

Ahhh, thanks a lot. I did a search and figured out that VoiceOver was on, but couldn't for the life of me figure out how that happened because I hadn't been into settings.
