Hi All,

I've got my home server all fired up now, and slowly starting to build all the VMs I want on it. Using Virtual Machine Manager. Host is Ubuntu 14.04LTS

Server is a dual Xeon x5650, 60GB RAM, etc etc so absolutely no issue with throughput or performance

When I try to build the new VM on it, I keep getting at seemingly random points of the install - its different every time - 'Installer Crashed'.

Its exactly the same ISO that I built the host machine from, so somewhat confused.

Is there something obvious I'm missing?

its running memtest now - I didn't consider 60GB Ram would take so long to do, probably another 3 is hours left.

Right, Memtest ran for nearly 18 hours, no errors. Issue still exists. I've tried deleting and rebuilding the VM, no difference. Same issue if I try booting into ubuntu as a live CD and install that way

Does the installer provider any further details on the error (click the little arrow while it's installing)?

Have you tried with a different ISO entirely? Can you post the VM configuration?
