I've been having two weird issues to do with gaming since reinstalling Windows 7 the other day.
1) When I'm playing BF3 I get these weird half-second freezes every 5 minutes or so.
2) Now when I try to enable v-sync in my Steam version of Street Fighter IV it caps at 50FPS and the lag is horrendous. I'm sure it used to cap at 60. If I turn v-sync off it feels a lot better but still not quite right (that's on top of the screen tearing issue). Still feels like there's some lag, even in training mode, although this could just be my imagination.
So what can account for this weirdness? I'm using all the same hardware as before (see sig) and I've installed the latest GPU drivers, plus I'm up to date with Windows Update. I've also installed my iGPU drivers, plus the correct chipset drivers.
