Weird issue with Roccat mouse

I have the Roccat Kone XTD (laser) and twice it has now randomly stopped working (warranty has expired). As in the cursor does not move when I move the mouse but the lights, scroll wheel and mouse button work fine. I reset the mouse using the config utility that comes with it to no avail.

Plugging it in another usb port doesn't work either but Windows recognises it and installs it. Tried on my laptop as soon as the problem occurred and still the same problem.

Now the bizarre thing is that, the next day when I re-use the mouse it works fine! It just so happens to be so random.

Any ideas why this might happen?

Mine did something similar, but plugging into a different USB port sorted it out. I upgraded it to the latest firmware a few days back, and it's been fine since. I'm now on driver 1.18 and firmware 1.20. Might be worth giving it a go if you haven't already.

I've had 2 Roccat Kone XTD, 1 I sent back for exactly the same reason. It just stopped working, the replacement failed just after the warranty expired and has been in the cupboard ever since.

The mouse was awesome when it worked correctly although a little light for my hands, maybe Ill drag it out of the cupboard and give it another try to see if it springs back into life.

Hope you get yours sorted.

I'm on 1.18 and fw 1.20 as well.

How long have you had the Kone XTD for?

It's a shame because it's indeed a great mouse. Issues began just one week after the warranty expired :(

It has been 3 consecutive days that the mouse has been working and I've already bought new mouse (Logitech Proteus G502) which is unopened and did contemplate whether to return it or not!
But given that yours has failed twice, chances mine will fail again soon I reckon.

That is exactly the mouse I bought too to replace the Roccat, its well build and heavier in the grip. The software and the customisation is not a scratch on the Roccat however. I liked how the Roccat verbally informed you of a mouse config change.

Quite a while. Can't find the paperwork for it at the moment though. I had the non-XTD Kone before it which was awesome, but the button clicks became a bit unreliable.

As you've mentioned, the XTD is a bit light. The previous version came with heaver weights and was a joy to use.
