Hey guys thought i would post this in general hardware as i really can't trace the issue.

My zotac 980ti amp makes a vibrating noise at 2200rpm fan speed 60 in msi a.b

If i stop the first fan nearest the display port the noise stops, but the thing is i had this exact same problem with my previous card a 280x tri-x.

my case stands up right and If i put my finger on the card and push it upwards the card stops the noise, but i feel like this would be putting a strain on the motherboards pcie slot.

But why is this happening?

I have tried loosening the gpu securing screws and raising the card more, but as soon as i release the pressure from me pushing the card up, the vibrating comes back!!!

Cheers guys. I've removed all the pcie covers and it still happens.

Which is the best way to test if the sockets are loose?

Just wiggle with your fingers, kind of a long shot really. Check that the motherboard screws aren't loose

already tried all the screws :(

my memory is so bad but the mrs just reminded me this issue goes so far back, in a different case with a different gpu's and motherboard

The things that were in the old system that have transfered over are my cpu 2600k with its venom cooler. dvd drive, and one hard drive.

so the sound comes from around the gpu so i think it may be something being vibrated when the gpu hits a certain rpm. what on the cpu and cooler could do that?
