Hey folks,

Strange one and Google (even Duck Duck Go) aint giving any info at all ...

On boot up my PC is showing this message. Not even sure if its an error :

It doesnt happen after a reboot only on cold start and doesnt seem to affect the system running.

Even tried the display port cables for my two monitors in different arrangements on the 5080 to see if that helped and it didnt.

Spec of the PC are :

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16 Core CPU (4.3GHz-5.7GHz/80MB CACHE/AM5)
ASUS® PRIME X870-P WIFI (AM5, DDR5, M.2 PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 7)
64GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 5200MHz CL40 (2 x 32GB)
16GB ZOTAC GEFORCE RTX 5080 AMP EXTREME INFINITY - HDMI, 3 x DP
2TB SAMSUNG 990 PRO M.2, PCIe 4.0 NVMe (up to 7450MB/R, 6900MB/W)
CORSAIR 1500W HXi SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® PLATINUM, ULTRA QUIET
CORSAIR H1700x RGB ELITE HIGH PERFORMANCE CPU COOLER

Any ideas?

Thanks folks!

R.

If that's the BIOS you're looking at, wouldn't it be more likely to relate to the LAN cable than display port?
Hey there, its just as soon as the PC starts up and is waiting a sec for F2 / DEL - so completely at a loss on it and never seen it before on other systems :S

I saw something that says some bios do a POST of the lan cable status.

Check your bios and see if there is a cable status check option, and if so see if disabling it stops the message.

If that doesn't change it, you can also disable the internal LAN controller to see if the message stops appearing. That will at least tell you whether the LAN controller is generating the message.

Seems coincidental that HDMI 2.1 is 48gbps bandwidth but you say you are using display port.

To my knowledge that I'll be honest is limited I can't think of any revision of display port that had 48gbps only slower or faster.

I might be barking up the wrong tree but if you could maybe try with an older hdmi cable that you've had lying around for years and see if the number drops

Hey everyone ... thank you!

It is indeed LAN related even though google shows NOTHING when I check as does the motherboard manual or anything else.

Disabling onboard LAN makes the message disappear!

Thanks :)

Is it something to do with booting from network drives?

If you have a look through the boot options in the bios can you disable anything saying network boot or pxe boot to see if it changes the behaviour?

No idea folks, all I know is its away now and feeling better about the new PC not having an issue of some sorts :) Thank you!
