I recently bought a BenQ 24" and when it arrived I installed it by removing the DVI cable of my old 18.1" TFT from my computer and plugging in the new cable of the BenQ. It worked but my old monitor lost power and would not switch on despite being correctly attached to its power source.
No big deal I thought but it would have been nice to try a dual monitor setup. I had a feeling it would come back to life though so I checked every day for about 5 days and on about the 5th day it turned on again and worked.
Anyway, now I've given my monitor to a friend and it's refusing to turn on so I just wanted to ask is there anything I can do apart from waiting about 5 days for it to reset. I appreciate that I probably should have powered off the computer and then turned it off standby and then unplugged it but oops...
Also just out of interest what is actually causing this - apart from my uninstallation technique?!
