Weird MS Keyboard/Mouse Problems

Bought a new keyboard and mouse set the other day. It consisted of Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 and Microsoft Wireless Laser Keyboard 6000 v2.0. I've had no problems with this until I went to play City of Heroes a minute ago. I havent played it much at all since i got the board so not sure if it has been like it since I got it.

Anyway here is the problem. When I am jumping and looking around, which involves pressing right click on the mouse and 3 keys on the board which are W, A or D and the Spacebar I get massive lag from the mouse. Turning can take up to a second to register then it does it on screen in an instant.

I've never had a problem just browsing around in windows. The wireless reciever is probably as close as you could possibly get.

If they help my specs are:
Asus A8N-E
3500+ 939
2Gb DDR2 4x512
256mb pci-e X800 Pro

Any suggestions would be great. Not sure whether pressing the amount of things I am is simply too much for the wireless reciever to take but I would hope not having set me back as much as this setup did.

Thanks
Von

I would however the reason i bought a new setup was my old mouses right click barely works. I will give it a go though and report back.

I put back my old setup which was an old ps/2 MS Internet keyboard and a USB MS optical mouse and I've still got the same problem. The only thing that has changed is I created a new partition to put Vista on and have dual boot with XP Pro.

I did however still have the wireless reciever for the new setup still installed. I just unplugged that and tried my old setup and it worked fine. So I'm guessing its a problem with that.

Any suggestions?

Well at least we know what the problem is!

Try different USB ports for the Mouse, install the latest USB drivers, try the mouse on a different computer... do you have any other wireless devices that might be interfering? Unshielded speakers?

Correct me if I am wrong but shouldn't fully up to date windows already have the drivers installed. I've never gone elsewhere to get usb2.0 drivers. My version of XP is fully up to date. Also have tried it in 2 of the 4 usb ports on the back 1 from each bit and also the usb2.0 ports on the front of my pc and all have the same problems. Oh and I just installed the latest nforce4 drivers too. All other drivers are up to date as far as I am aware.

The windows update will not give you the latest drivers, just to rule it out I would update them anyway. if you are unsure which drivers you need use something like CPU-Z to get the chipset info. then its off to either VIA, nVidia, Intel or SIS (sods law I have missed one, just google the model from the motherboard tab).
