Weird network disconnection issue

I use TPLink power line plugs to link my AV stuff in the lounge to the router, NAS etc in the study. There's a TPLink router at either end. I'm having this weird problem where the network in the lounge randomly disconnects. To fix it it I just unplug the cable from the router to the power line plug and pop it back in again. Everything then starts working again. Can anyone shed any light on why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?

Ditto! I'm wondering if it's about the power line plug going to sleep. There seems to be an issue though I haven't quite twigged how to sort it out. Or even if that's what's causing the problem.

Yes, I meant a switch. In my case it wasn't the switch as that was my initial diagnosis as well. I replaced the Tenda switch with a TPLink one. Same problem.

Resent.

Just realised that the power line adapters were working fine until just a couple of days before I made my initial post. I'll try turning the power saving off myself but it's rather mystifying.
