Hi all,

Attached to a network, we have a HP 2025n laserjet printer.

I installed the printer onto all machines using the existing software, which worked.

Then on one machine, it would continually say that the printer was "printer toner low or empty", despite having new toner put in.

All other computers are fine with it.

Checking for issues, Windows 7 runs through and again agrees that the printer is empty on toner.

I installed a new printer using Windows 7 default drivers (the same HP), and it's installed it as a new printer fine, one that works!

So, I removed the other printer (first installed, low toner one), and set the new one as default.

All fine until today, when I got a report nothing was printing.
I check the computer again - and the first, no toner printer was back! And back as default!

Any ideas how:

a) I can move all the queued jobs from the no-toner printer to the working printer?
b) How I can fix the no-toner printer error?

There is no direct way to trasnfer print jobs from one printer to another. Nice and simple on a Mac though.

One way you could try thought is this:

I went to print queue, go to Printer, then Properties, then Ports tab... I temporarily changed the port to point to the IP address of another printer (by changing the check box). After the queue printed, I just put the IP/port back. My two printers were of the same type, so I don't know if this would work with dissimilar printers.

Two different things you can test here.. try disabling 'advanced printing features' from within the printer driver and if this makes no difference then check what port you are using - if it's a Hp standard TCP/IP port, then change it to a standard TCP/IP port.
