Evening all!
I was driven into work today by one of my collegues and noticed a weird noise coming from his engine when he switched it off (approx 20 seconds after off).
Opened the bonnet and fired it up again. It seems to be coming from a small grey metal circular bit on the right hand side of the camshaft (between the two cams, looking rearwards). Marked with Siemens on it. Almost sounds like an elctric motor/gears on it's way out(!). Any idea what this bit does? Fairly familiar with engines but not DOHC motors, and not this new either!
The car is a 2003 2.2 Signum.
