Weird noises from graphics cards under load

Sort of a whine which goes on for about four seconds, increasing in pitch, then stops for a few seconds. Then starts again, periodic. It's an 8800gt sli setup running furmark, noise stops when I stop furmark.

Is this something I should worry about? It's a bit disconcerting, but I'm not sure I'd be able to hear it if the fans weren't so quiet. Card temperatures are about 40 centigrade, they're overclocked to roughly where I expect their limit to be but not hardmodded nor overvolted.

Not sure which card it is, suppose it might be both.

Is the noise your ones make continuous or periodic?

Wasn't stable anyway, knocked the frequencies down a notch. It's still making the same noise, though quieter. Bit concerned since the card's previously been solid as I could hope for and not previously made any noises at all.

it is on and off for a few seconds at a time that is whilst folding but dependant on which WU it is doing if under 99% load it will squeal it head off and on all the time
