Hey Guys,

I've been trying to overclock with my rubbish ASUS P5LD2-VM-DH, I've got my 3.4 Dual Core to 3.81. But when I go onto CPU-Z, the clock speed keeps changing from 2.6GHZ to 3.8GHZ.

I have some screenshot's below:

Any idea what's wrong?

Ok Thanks,

Problem sorted now, I had to re-turn to stock as at 3.8GHZ my Idle temp was 42c! But the weird thing is, when it was at 3.7GHZ it was 32c Idle?

Weirdd!

idle at 42c isn't too bad, whats it reach on full load (orthos Small FFTS)?

I would start worrying once you hit 60c really, they run hotter than the C2Ds.

But for only an extra 100mhz and such a big jump in temps, prob better to stick at 3.7ghz on a much lower temp. Its all down to what your happy with, its your CPU after all!

Yeh, true.

Well when I've got mu QuadGT and Water cooling fitted, i'll crank the GHZ up big time and hopefully have successful temps.

With water, I'm sure your squeeze every ounce out of your cpu!
