Weird Phone Scam?

I can handle the car accident claim calls and the random FOREX trading platform ones.

But this presumed scam is weird. I have had two calls in the last few days (plus a couple more but a long time ago) where the person claims they had a missed call from my number. One in the UK, and now one from Italy. They themselves don't sound like scammers so I can only presume my number is being somehow used for nefarious reasons.

Any one heard of something similar?

But how does a UK mobile number calling me back be a scam?

I'm not saying it's definitely not a scam but the guy on Monday night sounded utterly confused/normal.

How old do the people sound?

I remember years ago there was some trend of calling random numbers.

Monday - middle aged British man. Today - a younger Italian man.

Ahhhh I see, did not know that. I guess there's not really anything I can do about it other than not answer the phone (but I sometimes receive calls from unknown UK mobile numbers)?

Had some fun with the car accident claim ones before, managing to get up to get up to a manager about my hot air balloon crash that went down instead of up . God knows how they fell for it for that long - they're the scammers!

To be fair I've had this number for quite a while and it's both my personal and work number. I've got some cheapo sim card knocking around I've been meaning to swap over to. Thanks for the help .
