Having a bit of a weird problem with new graphics card and seeing if anyone else has encountered this.
Just upgraded from an Ati 5850 to a 7950 + OcUK Value Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter (for my twinview)
The setup is almost the same as my old 5850. Both DVI ports used for monitors and the HDMI port connects to my HDTV in the other room (used separately for movies, etc only). I use the Catalyst invoke preset to switch from 2xDVI & 1xHDMI.
Now with my new 7950 I have kind of done the same. DVI + DP adaptor for twinview and the HDMI for the HDTV.
Setup the the displays and save the in Control Center presets.
Now the weird problem occurs when invoking the preset from HDTV to the 2xDVI. The HDTV goes off (no signal) as always but the 2xDVI monitors fail to come on.
Pressing any keep or mouse movements causes nothing to happen. Also notice that at the time on my G15 keyboard display is frozen suggesting the PC has frozen. Only way to get the PC back is a full power off then on again then all is fine.
Now this has happened a few times only when switching back from the HDTV
preset. I have tried 12.3 and 12.4 drivers (removed from windows uninstaller, boot to safe mode then use driver sweeper before fresh install) but its still happening.
Have checked the event viewer but can't find anything to relate to this.
I have also been testing our the graphics card with max settings of some games (Battlefield 3, Skyrim, etc) to test if any problems there but its perfect in that way.
Anyone else noticed this problem of any possible solution that could help?
