Over the past few years - every single pair of headphones i have bought have broken.

i have been through like 12 pairs of headphones and EVERY single one has broken in exactly the same way.

The left ear piece goes compleatly dead.
All 12 headphones are the same.

Bought loads of different brands.

iPod ones, sony ones and so on.

All of them break in the left ear - im so carefull with them now a days yet they still break!

The right ear stays perfect!

im starting to think like my left ear is like giving out destructive waves which destroy headphones!

any idea people?

my current pair is already quieter in the left ear- will be dead soon :(

ALSO:
used loads of different devices too - from Creative Zens to iPods to my phones

+ the music is never really loud - some of my friends have it booming loud and i cant even put it in my ear -

Sorry Sorry - Forgot to mention

used loads of different devices too - from Creative Zens to iPods to my phones

and im not the sort of person who listens to their music loud

Bad connection on pc mobo differential metals ? out of curiosity have you tried a quality Bose set yet gold plated connections almost indestructable etc ?

Sounds to me like the fault is with the user.... do you have any of these broken earphones around, have you opened up the broken left peices on them to see if the cable has been pulled and broken the speaker connection?

Only reason I say this is because you are the Only common denominator from the info given?

Probably breaking the inner copper wire by wrapping them too tight when not in use.
I screwed mine that way, numpty that I am.

Normally (on Sony headphones at least) cable to left ear is shorter than right ear - ideam is MP3 player is on your left with cable up left side to left ear and loop from split point goes across to right ear. In this config if you drop MP3 player then the weight ends up being taken by the cable tothe left ear thus it is more likely to seperate

i've had proper massive headphones that have broken in the past :S

used to own some Medusa Speed link 5.1 surround sound headphones - broke in left ear

That's the headphones I have, they're awesome, I've not had any problems with them anyway =[

Sounds like you're having some serious bad luck with headphones dude, I'm willing to put money on the radioactive left ear tbh, any takers? starting at 5-1

...Try wearing them the other way around, see what happens :D

lol good idea - i will do that - and then if the right one breaks....

im like RaDioAcTivE1 or summit!!!!

plus i dont wear when sleeping - dont drop my stuff with phones in and i opened up a few and everything is where it should be - i cant see why they are broken and dnt wrap them tight at all
