weird problem, making a program run slower?

is there any simple way to make a program run slower? i.e say i was stuck on a game which was made a long time ago which had do this level in 20 seconds, but i swear it's going faster then it used to so it impossible. any way to decrease the speed it runs at?

Depends, if it's a DOS based game then DOSBox has built in CPU control. For Windows games there was a tool called MoSlo but I doubt it would run on a modern OS.

Can't you download a save game or something to get past that one section? Might be easier than messing about with the cpu speed.
