Weird Problem, Need HELP!

So you have a problem with your Internet connection, your memory on shutting down and you think you have malware?

I would think maybe the malware or virus could be causing the memory problems and the Internet problems you are having. You've run Ad-Aware and Spybot yes? And you've done your HijackThis too.

You could try downloading the Windows Malicious Software tool, it'll scan your PC and see if you have anything nasty on your PC. It will take a while so you might want to leave it running overnight.

What antivirus and firewall if any are you running? Have you got the latest versions and done an antivirus scan with the latest definitions?

i have AVG free and have done scans with latest update. i had kerio firewall thing but i heard that routers have much better firewalls anyway so they not really needed, and also i hate having things next to me clock, and kerio was one of them.

ill try getting that Windows Malicious Software tool. do you have to pay, and where is it from?

As Poolybit you can get the Windows Malicious Software tool through the Windows Update site.

Can't you hide the icons of programs you don't want to see in the task bar? I do this so that I only have the icons I need to see visible.

I take it you are running a router then? Could that be responsible for the Internet problems?

iwoudlnt imagine so, as i have never had problems with my internt connection like this, only recently. really started happening when i got the messege and little icon next to clock from windows saying abut illegal version and needs to be verified. could this be the problem. i do plan to buy the real veriosn, just not until i get the money.

No one else also gets problems wit interent like this, mum says she has problems randomly but rarely but as far as im aware the router is healthy, how would i test it?

You got the Genuine Advantage on your PC :( Its only just started coming down through windows updates. Theres no way to get rid of that except to reload windows...other than registry bits and such.

/edit theres no real way to test the router other than in a real life situation..aka using it.

Having read what you said about the illegal copy of Windows and the messages you've been getting about it and the similar timing of the problem hints it could be related to the legality of the Windows install. At least it is a big question mark and so until you get a kosher copy I can't thing of anything else to suggest.

How much is the copy of Windows you want to get? You could save a bit of money by buying an OEM copy along with a cheap bit of qualifying hardware instead of buying the full version of Windows.
