Hiyahh! :D

Im having a slight issue with my dads computer...!

Basically when it starts up, it finds everything, displays the RAM speed, CPU Speed, Drives detected but next where it jumps onto loading the OS, it goes straight to the BIOS :(

Not giving any errors or anything, the cpu was overclocked mildy, so i undone that, but still no luck! Loaded failsafe, optimised, cleared the CMOS (really well actually... left the battery out over night) and getting nowhere with it...

His specs are...

E6400 at Stock
Abit IN-9
8800 GTX
4Gb DDR2 800
Vista x32
250 SATA2 seagate HDD
Samsung 223BW

Anybody got any ideas?

Im by no means silly when it comes to this, fairy good at hardware and software, been doing it for years, but this has me stumped... :(

Thanks!

Craig!!

Have you set the date and time?

Some BIOS chips force you there first until you set up some standard features (such as date and time). Then they'll let you continue

Ta mattyrigby00, sadly I already have windows in the drive and have set boot priority... but its not getting that far... (i dont think) its like its just about to leave the post screen... but decides to go into the bios instead :(

The cmos reset jumper aint been moved ?
I know on my mobo ( diff to yours )when you "reset" the cmos it actually lets you boot into bios to make changes , doesnt just reset the bios.
