Got my new setup all running nicely apart from having to use the stock cooler for the time being was pretty happy got vista x64 installed and sp2'd all going well then after some more updates a restart was required now its not detecting the hdd at all, ive tried different sata leads, different power leads, different hdd, all to no avail, ive left it unplugged now for a while with both power connectors unplugged and cleared the cmos need to go back to it when i get back from work but question is has anyone else had a similar issue with this or another board???

I had this with my board.

Connect everything back up. Sometimes swapping caable to another SATA port would do the trick.

Otherwise Change boot priority to CD/DVD drive ONLY. Disable all other boot options. Then let it start up and try to look for a boot cd in the drive. It will tell you that it can't find system disk. THen restart, get into BIOS, change boot priority to Hard drive. Save and start her up.

This time it *should* find your HDD just fine.

EDIT - Just read you've tried a different hard drive? This might not solve your issue then. Worth a try though.
